Description:

The thyme plant is an aromatic shrub commonly found in the Mediterranean area. Thyme seasoning is used in a large number of cuisines, including European, Mediterranean, African, but also Latin and Central American. Fresh and dried thyme is commonly available in supermarkets.

Native to Spain, red thyme has a more subtle taste than common thyme. It is a species closely related to common thyme. The small aromatic leaves are grayish-green and characterized by an agrestic, phenolic fragrance.

Thyme is an herb with a distinctive smell. The leaves and the oil are commonly used in food or for their medicinal properties.

Red thyme has an herbaceous profile that pairs well with grilled meat, game, stuffing and vegetables gratin.
