Description:

Oregano is an aromatic herb of the mint family. Also known as Spanish thyme or wild marjoram, this perennial herb is native to the Mediterranean countries and East Asia. The Greeks and Romans associated it with joy and happiness.

Oregano is commonly used as a supplement or as an aromatic oil. Apart from its flavour and aroma, oregano is known and used for its antioxidant properties.

What does oregano taste like

Commonly described as an iconic ingredient of Mediterranean cuisine, oregano has an intense flavour enhanced with a slightly peppery and bitter note.

Often associated with pizza, oregano can also be used with grilled meats and fish, and added to almost any type of side dishes ranging from pasta to vagetables.

Recommended dosages:

  • Oil: 20 g/kg
  • Béchamel sauce: 4 g/kg
