Origin of chilli pepper
Native to South America, chillies were already being cultivated some 10,000 thousands years ago. They were imported from South America thanks to expeditions led by Christopher Colombus.
Today, chilli peppers are globally used in a wide array of cuisines, highly prized for their intense heat and taste. Over the last few years, adventurous consumers are increasingly looking for new gustatory experiences and chilli peppers have been gaining momentum in many food applications.
