Discover our grapefruit essential oil
Description:
Mainly cultivated in tropical countries, the white grapefruit is characterized by a yellow skin, a bitter, tangy and sweet taste. From aperitif to dessert, it can be paired with herbaceous notes, alcoholic notes and exotic fruits. The white grapefruit can be used to make a wide array of desserts: soufflé, clafoutis, flan, gratin, fondant cake…
Difference between red, pink and white grapefruit
Red grapefruit is probably one of the most popular variety. The pulp of the fruit has a rich scarlet colour and it is sweeter than pink or white grapefruit but quite bitter. Great for juicing, pink grapefruit is halfway between the white and the red grapefruit in terms of colour and sweetness. Finally, the white grapefruit is the least sweet of the three, and has a sweet-tart balance, pretty useful in the kitchen.
Grapefruit essential oil benefits
Grapefruit is commonly known for its weight loss properties and numerous health benefits. First, it is packed with vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is known to support cell growth, immune function and vision. While vitamin C, also known as ascorbic acid, has several functions including helping with wound healing, protecting cells and preventing free radical damage.
Furthermore, the colour of the red and pink grapefruit pulp comes from high level of lycopene, which is a powerful cancer-fighting antioxidant.
