Description:
Native to Australia, eucalyptus is a fast-growing evergreen tree, easily recognisable by its camphor smell. Its taste is reminiscent of coniferous forests. In the flavouring industry, we use the oil that comes from the tree. The leaves are steam distilled to extract the oil, which is a colourless liquid with a strong aroma.
Eucalyptus is a versatile ingredient as it can be used for its medicinal properties in creams and ointments, but it can also be found in food applications, especially hot beverages.
Our natural flavour has a fresh, camphor & herbaceous profile. Primarily used by confectioners, it might also appeal to pastry chefs and chocolatiers wishing to create more elevated desserts.
