Description:

Condensed milk is a nostalgic ingredient, commonly used in bakery to replace regular milk or cream: pudding, egg custard, crème brûlée, cheesecake, tiramisu…

What is condensed milk?

Commonly, condensed milk is milk that has been thickened by evaporation and sweetened. Most of the time, it is packaged and sold in tins or in tubes.

Difference between evaporated vs condensed milk

The main difference is that evaporated milk is unsweetened whereas condensed milk is sweetened. There is also a difference of consistence between both. Evaporated milk can be used in savoury recipes as a substitute to milk or in sweet recipes where you need the richness but not the sweetness.
